ADOPTION PROCESS

Adoption can present many hurdles, but it doesn't have to! AmericanKidz Adoption Services, Inc. offers a full complement of legal, educational and psychological services to help you navigate the process.

The first step will be an office consultation with one of our owners during which we will get to know one another. You will have the chance to explain your current family dynamic and how you see it changing.  

Once retained, our owners and their staff will go to work for you. We will provide you with the tools and documentation you will need to locate children currently available nationwide, while we contact our resources to introduce you and help you look for children. It is mandatory, in most cases, that adoptive parents attend a short series of educational classes (MAPP).

Our professional staff will complete your required home study during which we will visit your home and meet all members of your household. Our goal is to assist you in finding a child who will complement your family and adjust to your lifestyle. As you learn about the children who are in need of loving children, we will work with you to help you understand the child's medical, psychological, developmental, and educational background and anticipated future needs. 

Once a match is made, our staff attorneys will provide all adoption-related legal services, at no additional charge including personal representation at all court appearances.

After placement, we will make visits to your home to evaluate adjustment with you. We will provide all required documentation of the adjustment process for the child's state of origin. Furthermore, we will facilitate and coordinate necessary community resources to provide you with any needed support during the adjustment period.

AmericanKidz will walk with you through the entire adoption process, and advocate for you at every turn.
