Letter from Barbara & Dave:

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us through this letter and considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. While we realize this brief summary will only provide a glimpse into our world, we hope it provides you with insight to who we are, what is important to us, and the type of life that we could provide for your baby.
We were fortunate to conceive twin boys three and a half years ago through in vitro fertilization. Since then, despite many attempts and a miscarriage, Barbara has not been able to become pregnant again. Adoption has always been an option for us as we hoped to continue to grow our family. And, it is our hearts desire to bless our family with a little girl and our boys with a little sister.
Your strength and courage in considering adoption inspires us, and we feel privileged that you have chosen to consider us as an adoptive family for your child. As adoptive parents, we would be honored to welcome this precious child into our hearts and home with open arms and unconditional love.

About Us:
We are Dave and Barbara. We met six and a half years ago when a mutual friend of ours set us up on a blind date. We were thrilled to discover that we shared many similar interests, values, and dreams. We spent the next two years growing closer, getting to know each others families and friends, traveling and experiencing life together. We were married over four and a half years ago amongst our dearest friends and families who traveled from all over the United States and Canada. We are best friends and soul mates and are hopeful and excited to continue to build our family together through adoption.

Dave is in the medical field and Barbara has spent her career in Corporate America. We are both highly educated and serve as board members of several non-profit organizations. We believe in being involved in our community. Last year, Dave became the founder of a non-profit organization that sponsors local charities in our community.
Faith, family and friends are certainly the foundation of our lives. Our family’s heritage is mainly Italian. Many of Dave’s relatives live in Canada while Barbara’s live in New York. Despite the distance, we work diligently to stay close. We travel throughout the year to visit them for holidays and family gatherings. We are fortunate to have a wonderful group of friends most of whom we have built memories with over the past 20-30+ years.

Barbara (by Dave): They say there is somebody for everybody out there. My ideal person was someone that would be my soul mate as well as a wonderful mother to my children. That somebody for me was, and still is, Barbara. I was immediately drawn to her warm ways and positive, energetic spirit. Her charismatic ways always seem to captivate her surrounding audience. We have shared many great times and laughs together, exploring new places and making friends wherever we go. Barbara possesses so many wonderful qualities, but the one I probably am most drawn to is her selfless spirit. Always kind in thought and action, she genuinely does this without any expectation, or thought of, reward. But in addition to being someone I could spend the rest of my life with, Barbara was also the exact type of person I had envisioned as the mother of my children. She has so much love for our boys and it shows well in them. So much so that their preschool principal noticed how secure both boys are with Barbara. Barbara indeed places their needs well above her own, true to her selflessness. She is attentive to their fundamental needs, education, sense of values and respect towards others. Barbara is committed to raising the boys to be the best they can be, no matter what they choose to do in life. Barbara truly is a great person and mother. We are so very lucky to have her in our lives!

Dave (by Barbara): I think Dave is an exceptional man, husband and father. As a man, Dave is intelligent, resourceful and driven, yet by his nature, he is a very gentle person. He is a man of great integrity and a very genuine and humble individual. He has a love and appreciation for nature and the great outdoors and enjoys boating, skiing, and biking. Dave strives to continually challenge himself both mentally and physically. As a husband, he is extremely loving and supportive. He makes me laugh every day. He is my very best friend and I love beginning and ending my days with him. We make it a priority to focus on the development of our relationship, and I look forward to our weekly dates and spending time with him. As a father, he is kind-hearted yet firm. He is a wonderful role model and possesses qualities I hope our children will not only admire but mirror. He is a dedicated father and spends just about every evening bathing our boys, reading their favorite stories to them and saying evening prayers. Our boys love their daddy! He works hard to provide a safe and comfortable life for us all and prioritizes his responsibilities to ensure he has plenty of time to play, enjoy and experience life with us. He is a well-balanced person. It is because of him that I get to be a stay-at-home mom which is the best job I have ever had. We are so lucky to have such a great man for a husband and father.

Our Family: Luka and Lorenzo are our very energetic twin boys who are three and a half years old. Not only do they provide us with constant entertainment, they continually keep us on our toes. It’s humbling to be corrected by a three+ year old who is so exacting! We love their boundless energy, insatiable curiosity, and playful nature. As parents, we believe children learn by example, discipline and loving guidance and we work together to create a positive, loving environment for each to realize their potential. We are confident they will be incredible, loving big brothers.

Life in Our Home: Spending time together as a family is our priority. We paint, color, do a lot of puzzles, create with Play-Doh, spend hours in our backyard on our play set and with our toys. We build track for all of our trains. We swim, ride bikes, go boating and scout for dolphins. We take day trips to the beach, visit the zoo, aquarium, children’s museum and amusement parks. In the winter, we spend a lot of time out West and love skiing, sledding, tubing and going to the parks. We are very active and love to play. We all like music, so banging on Dave’s drum set is always fun, and recently, we purchased a piano. It is important to us that our lives are filled with music, singing, fun and happiness. We are avid travelers and have spent time in Europe, South America, the Caribbean and Canada. Experiencing other cultures and countries is important to us. Oh, and did I mention good food. We love to cook and entertain our families and friends whether it’s an intimate gathering or a big party.

All that said, we are raising our children to have God at the center of their lives. Our religious roots are Roman Catholic and our children will most likely attend parochial school. As parents, we believe in the importance of teaching our children to be hard working, empathetic towards others and respectful members of society. We provide an environment where our children learn the value of independence, mutual respect, and open communication. We want our children to find peace and security in our home and know they are loved unconditionally. We place a high value on education and appreciate each child’s unique talents. Above all, we feel it is our responsibility as parents to instill a strong sense of self-worth and confidence in our children.

Closing Remarks: We would like to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents and entrusting us with the welfare of this beloved child. She would be loved beyond measure, unconditionally and equally just as Luka and Lorenzo. We genuinely appreciate you giving us the opportunity to share information about our family and we wish you the best through your pregnancy. It is our hope that you feel the love of the Lord and are guided by His hand through this process. We want you to know we are praying for you, your child, and that God will grant you peace, comfort and guidance as you seek the best plan for you and your precious child.

Warmest Regards,
David and Barbara
And future big bothers
